What we collectIf you choose to purchase our products and services, we will collect only information which is essential in order for us to provide you with our community alarm services. This information will include:
- Your personal and residential details
- Details of two close contacts
- Contact details of your GP
- Details of any disabilities or special circumstances we, as your community alarm service provider, should be aware of
Note: We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer financial details with any 3rd parties.
What we do with the information we gather
Most of our services are delivered through our contractors. We will pass your contact details to Southern Telecare, so that they can install and maintain the devices ordered by you. We have contractual arrangements with them to ensure they fully understand and observe the Data Protection Act. We will also pass your details to Invicta Telecare (a 24/7 community alarm service Call Centre) to be able to monitor your calls and respond to your calls for help. Invicta Telecare is a leading national call centre which serves over 93,000 customers across the UK. We have appropriate contractual arrangements in place with them to ensure your data is managed in a secure manner in compliance with the Data Protection Act. CHS will only hold personal information which is required to run our core business and carry out our obligations to you.
We will not sell, distribute(other than the exceptions listed above) or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required by law to do so.
We would also like to contact you in future to ask for your feedback on the quality of our service. This is carried out regularly or after your calls for assistance, and the information gathered is used to improve our service.
We have a legal duty under the Data Protection Act to prevent your information falling into the wrong hands. We must also ensure that the data we hold is accurate, adequate, relevant and not excessive.
Normally, the only information we hold comes directly from you. Whenever we collect information from you, we will make it clear which information is required in order to provide you with the information, service or devices you need. You do not have to provide us with any additional information unless you choose to do so. We store your information securely on our computer system, we restrict access to those who have a need to know, and we train our staff in handling the information securely.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a Data Controller and comply fully with all aspects of the Data Protection Act so you can be sure that we will treat your personal information with the utmost care.
We use cookie technology mainly during the purchase process. Our cookies do not hold any personally identifiable information and do not track your web behaviour or preferences.

Controlling your personal information
You have the right to a copy of all the information we hold about you (apart from any data which we may be obliged to withhold because they may concern other people as well as you). Much of this information which will be generated in the future as a result of your using our service to call for assistance . To obtain a copy, either ask for an application form to be sent to you, or write to the Data Protection Officer at CHS using one of the communication methods listed below. There is a charge of £10 for a copy of your data as permitted by law. We aim to reply as promptly as we can and, in any case, within the legal maximum of 40 days.
